The beach, the sand, the ocean, a place where we go to play, build, sit, swim, run, meditate, pray, admire, do yoga, get married. People of all races, ethnicities, religions, social and sexual preferences. All accepted unconditionally by the massive, breathtaking, sand and ocean. No questions asked when we show up alone, as a couple, with a group of friends, family, to do it is we love, while admiring it’s energy it gives us. It’s the reason we are attracted to it. When we can walk up to the ocean to admire the ocean waves, sometimes walking a little closer to feel the water against our feet as they slowly get buried a little deeper. When then it’s our time to depart, to go home and we bring a little back with us, a little sea salt on our skin a little bit of sand particles tangled in our hair and feet. We then take a shower and we feel like new, replenished, more relaxed, a little more alive.
Let’s remember what the beach gives us and take care of it like it’s taking care of us. My run on the sand this morning was filled with plastic caps, juice straw wrappers and old and fresh beer cans that seemed to have been enjoyed the night before. Let’s remember to respect and protect this beautiful place. Let’s clean our space when we come to visit the beach……
